The Alphard inspection checklist

A calm, methodical walk-through for inspecting an imported people mover before committing.

A good decision starts by separating what is documented, what is observed and what is merely claimed. This guide gives you a practical framework for that conversation.

01

Paperwork first

Compare the build plate, export certificate and sale documents. A listing title is not evidence of the exact variant.

02

Inspect cold

Ask to see the vehicle before it is warmed up. Observe warning lights, start-up behaviour, smoke, leaks and unusual noises.

03

Doors, seats and electronics

Operate every powered door, seat, shade, camera and climate zone. Imported premium vehicles can hide expensive convenience-system faults.

04

Independent specialist

Use a workshop that understands Japanese imports and the relevant hybrid system. A general roadworthy check is not a substitute for a purchase inspection.
